The South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership began when a group of clergy from area congregations, decided they could do greater ministry if they worked together.  In 1970 we incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
Our efforts are currently focused on the Food Closet which provides emergency food for nearly 4000 individuals monthly.  Our clients include single parent families, welfare recipients, homeless and a large working poor population. We dispense food to people of varied ethnic backgrounds who live within seven zip codes of south Sacramento.
Our Food Closet consists of a core group of 30 -35 volunteers many of whom are also members of the governing Board of Directors.  A part-time coordinator and receptionist are our valued employees.
A food package for one person is sufficient to feed three meals for three days, with caloric and protein balance considered.
