Our Church Leadership
Our Church thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Here are the members of our 2010-2011 Council who make our church community special: Executive Officers
Charlotte Williams - Moderator Charlotte brings many years of leadership and managerial experience to her role and congregational leader at Parkside. Her dedication to seeing Parkside grow and her commitment to hearing and respecting all voices make her an excellent representative of our congregation. Charlotte is serving the first year of her second two year term.
Kelly Wilson - Vice Moderator
Kelly is newly elected to her position as of our annual meeting June 2010. A military veteran and registered nurse, Kelly brings a compassion and diligence to her position. She steps in when Charlotte is unavailable and is also responsible for annual review of pastoral staff.
Norma Killion - Secretary Norma is newly elected as of our annual meeting in June 2011. She serves to track the Council monthly meeting minutes, discussions, and voted actions. Norma is in the first year of her first two-year term.
Markus Stout - Treasurer Mark Stout, better known as Markus, began his term as Treasurer in July 2011. Mark brings a variety of experience, from 18 years of supply/logistics work in the U.S. Navy (Active Duty) and the U.S. Coast Guard (civilian) to over five years as an Auditor with the U.S. Department of Interior - his current employer. Mark received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Hawaii - West Oahu and his MBA from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
Commission Chairs Craig Chalmers - Buildings & Grounds As Chair of this commission, Craig will oversee the stewardship of our facilities through maintenance and repair. He and his team will organize work days, recommend guidelines for facility use, and coordinate contractors when repairs are needed. Craig has been a volunteer on the Buildings and Grounds Commission for a number of years and began his term of service as Chair July, 2011.
Amanda Luther - Fellowship Amanda is the extreme organizer and helps us enrich the quality of our relationships among the members and friends of this church. Whether it's the after church social hour, the all church picnic or the potlucks, Amanda has it all planned with efficiency and fun.
Lori Sugar - Good News Team The Good News Team seeks ways to reach out by word to the community and to acquaint the community with the nature of this congregation and our ministry. Lori brings many years of public relations, organizing and working with the media to her role as Chair.
Sarah Swaney - Health Ministry Sarah began her duties as Health Ministry Chair on July 1, 2011. Sarah works with Faith Community Nurse, Rebecca Anton, in leading the Health Ministry Commissiion in its work to enchance the wholeness of body, mind and spirit for Parkside Commuity UCC members as well as for members of the community at large.
George Marks - Mission & Service George is serving his second year of a first term as Chair. He leads this commission in educating the congregation about the needs of others and encourage and provide support for the mission of this church in service to our community.
Jim Guida - Spiritual Growth/Christian Education A recent graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, Jim has a passion for Christian education of our youth and adults. His love of the Bible and its relevance to our lives today nurtures his leadership of this commission.
Bob Finch - Worship An ordained minister, Bob brings many years of experience in the pastorate as well as his specialty, drama ministry. The Worship commission oversees everything that pertains to the service of worship, administration of the sacraments, and our creative arts. Bob is serving the second year of his second term as Chair of the commission.
